There is something truly spectacular about award winning singer and songwriter Kate
Ceberano. Whether it is her soulful voice, her charismatic nature or exotic looks, she has
become a legendary Australian icon over the past twenty-five years. A woman widely
respected not only by the music industry, but also for her ability to juggle an abundance
of other roles. From television appearances (Dancing with the Stars, It Takes Two, Who
Do You Think You Are?), to charity work (Ambassador for the National Breast Cancer
Foundation), to motherhood (her daughter Gypsy is now 4), Kate still finds time to do
what she loves most – making beautiful music.
In 2007, Kate saluted the 80!s with her album Nine Lime Avenue, a tribute to a decade
that she holds close to her heart. In fact, the album was named after her childhood
street. Nine Lime Avenue was recorded in an unbelievable three weeks, whilst Kate was
also tearing up the stage on season six of Channel 7!s Dancing With The Stars, of which
she was crowned champion. The show was the third highest rated TV program of 2007,
beaten only by the AFL and NRL Grand Finals.
Ingrid’s voice has been described as “chocolate: rich, dark and smooth”.
Performing throughout Australia and overseas, Ingrid James is one of Queensland’s leading jazz vocalists. Her appearances range from soloist with the Queensland Orchestra in Spirit of Christmas broadcast nationally on ABC TV; with maestro, Tommy Tycho, in tributes to Cole Porter and Gershwin; to crowning as Queen of the Noosa Jazz Festival; and special guest at many other jazz festivals throughout Australia, including the Brisbane Festival, River Festival, Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, Bellingen Jazz Festival, Kiama Jazz Festival, Dingo Creek Jazz Festival and Gold Coast Jazz Festival.
Ingrid also has performed at venues as varied as The Blue Note in Monte Carlo, the 606 Club and Spice of Life in London and the City of Music in Marseilles. Described as a “fearless and gifted jazz singer" by the Sydney Morning Herald, a candidate for the Best 10 list by Cadence Magazine reviewer in New York, and a singer who has “a special affinity for Brazilian music (who) brings out the full beauty of the lyrics” by critic, Joao da Penha of Brazil, reviewers acknowledge the heartfelt warmth and intimate style that characterizes her performances.

The band is led by David Humphreys, who has worked in many countries and performed with the likes of Manhattan Transfer, Ricky Martin and Wynton Marsalis. The band has performed at the Brisbane Festival, the Valley Jazz Festival and regularly at Brisbane Jazz Club.
Although swing music forms the basis of much of the big band repertoire, the BCJO focuses on contemporary big band music . In addition to music from composers such as Jaco Pastorius and Michel Camilo, the band has a selection of stand-alone tribute sets, including: Basie/Ellington, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman, Pat Metheny, and the Phil Collins Big Band.

The Toby Wren Trio
Toby Wren (guitar); Georgia Weber (double bass); Paul Hudson (drums).
One of Australia’s leading contemporary jazz ensembles The Toby Wren Trio will perform music from the album “Umlaut” plus all new material from their upcoming album. Toby has worked as a composer of orchestral music, band-leader, accompanist, arranger for rock bands and a producer of festivals and new music events. He continues to be a student of musicological studies (Indian classical music) as well as being one of Australia’s most unusual and intriguing improvisers. Toby’s compositions have won accolades and acclaim nationwide, and have gone on to be performed by a number of the country’s top ensembles
and orchestras. Whilst Toby is an accomplished musician across a cultivated mix of genres, his
love for jazz flows from the free-form discussions the style permits. The Toby Wren Trio presents a striking and original perspective on contemporary jazz.
