Over the past 16 years Ambiwerra has grown
into a "must do" event on Brisbane's calendar.
Held on
the first Sunday in August at Corinda, just nine kms from
the CBD, Ambiwerra is also a leisurely day spent sampling
sensational food and huge range of wines with friends and
family.
Capping
the attendance to 7000 this year, Ambiwerra transforms the
5 hectares of lush Corinda parkland into a one-stop feast
for the ears, eyes and taste buds. Colour abounds with food,
wine, fashion, music and ambience blending to create a myriad
for the senses.
The live
entertainment, with jazz and blues artists on three stages,
as well as roving entertainment and street performers, is
just one of the vital ingredients of Brisbane’s best
food and music day out

Almost 100,000 lives have been saved by surf lifesavers since recording began in 1930, and millions more given peace of mind about their safety in the surf and on the beach.
SAVING LIVES - WHAT IS THE COST?
To patrol more than 80 beaches, to educate the community on aquatic safety, to purchase rescue and resuscitation equipment, and to insure and support over 25,000 volunteer members, costs millions of dollars each year.
Surf Life Saving relies heavily on the support of the public to fund voluntary beach patrols across Australia. The funding for Surf Life Saving comes from public donation and support, corporate sponsorship and government funding.
85% of Surf Life Saving Queensland’s operating costs are funded by the community each year. |
